Welcome to My Release Of Health Information Portal.
Our practice continually strives to provide excellent care and service to all our clients. To minimize direct physical contact with our office staff, we encourage third-party requestors to utilize My ROI Portal to request, track and download records.
Our goal is to consolidate many common tasks into one secure, easy-to-use online portal. My ROI Portal is designed to help third-party requestors such as copy services, insurance companies, disability agencies, and law firms, to easily and securely request, track and manage medical records requests.
Functional neurology is a specialty of clinical neuroscience that is based upon the principles of neuroplasticity. We utilize this ability of the body to restore normal function to areas of the brain and nervous system that are not functioning at optimal levels. Chiropractic Neurology detects these broken patterns and reconnects them. By combining chiropractic care, neurology, and physical rehabilitation, we are able to make changes not only in the dysfunctional joints, muscles, and surrounding tissues but also in the brain and nervous system that is controlling them. Diagnosing the level(s) where the problems are occurring allows us to reconnect these structures and allow the human body to function in a symptom-free, healthy state.
We use a variety of electrical modalities that promote soft tissue healing, reduce pain, and provide stimulation of nerves, muscles, and neurological pathways. Joints and muscles have nerve endings called receptors that stimulate peripheral nerves along the spine to communicate with the brain. As functional neurologists, we use electrical stimulation to activate and plasticize these neurologic pathways, addressing neuropathies and rehabilitating people who have movement disorders or have suffered a stroke.
Is a specific electrical stimulation designed to help patients recover accuracy of their somatosensory maps which are lost as a result of stroke, cognitive aging, or below optimal brain function. The somatosensory system is the part of the sensory system that relies on touch to experience sensation; light touch, pain, pressure and vibration are all somatosensory experiences. Electrical Muscle Stimulation utilizes small electrical currents which stimulate the nerve endings in muscle tissue to assist in reducing inflammation, relax hypertonic muscles, increase motion in muscle groups, improve blood flow, reduce pain. It may also be used to increase strength and tone in atrophied muscles.
Whatever your needs may be, a specific exercise program will be designed to address physiological deficits and continue to optimize your neurological function while you are out of the office. Our primary goal is to give our patients their lives back. This is why we will provide individualized at home exercises, allowing you to be as autonomous as possible. We will prescribe and monitor weeks to months and look forward to seeing you on your way to optimal health.
Spinal decompression is a conservative form of treatment for the management of pain for patients suffering with neck, low back pain and sciatica. Many patients have experienced relief of pain and symptoms associated with herniated discs, bulging or protruding intervertebral discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome and sciatica. The theory behind non-surgical spinal decompression is a process whereby gentle forces are applied to the spine in a manner that maximizes spinal elongation. Spinal elongation is maximized when muscles that guard the spine from injury are relaxed. When these paraspinal muscles relax during spinal decompression, the pressure inside the thecal sac of the spine will drop creating a vacuum effect and decreasing the pressure to the nerves and intervertebral disc. This facilitates the movement of fluid, carrying nutrients and oxygen inside the disc. Additionally, the reductions in pressure may help draw in herniated disc fluids, reducing the size of the herniation.
Laser therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of infrared light to create therapeutic effects. It can be used on patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic conditions in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality. These effects include increased circulation, decreased healing time, pain reduction, and decreased inflammation or swelling. The light is provided by a low power laser, which emits energy in the form of photons. These photons are particles of energy that become absorbed by the tissue and cells resulting in the conversion of light to energy. Multiple physiological responses of healing are initiated and normal cell functioning is restored.
FNOR™ blends applied functional neuroscience, orthopedic care and modern rehabilitative methods to achieve faster, more effective, consistent results.
Our Chiropractors are trained in a variety of adjusting techniques to provide comfortable treatment achieving results in the shortest amount of time.
These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
This form of rehabilitation encompasses a variety of techniques focused on retraining the muscle spindles which are the individual components of a muscle. This may include:
- Active release techniques: a form of stretching technique that requires active motion on behalf of the patient.
- Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation: a form of stretching that combines both passive motion, in conjunction with isometric muscle contraction on behalf of the patient.
- Percussor: a vibration tool that helps to reduce muscular tension, relax hypertonic muscles, and increase blood flow to the region by activating certain nerve endings in the muscle that respond to vibratory stimulation.
